I'm too sexy for this blog... Or, "sex for Hits" in the Jewish Blogsphere - UPDATED
I should be ashamed of myself.
In a recent post, I was critical of Israel's Ministry of Tourism for using sex to promote travel to Israel.
It seems, however, that Israel's Ministry of Tourism isn't the only one guilty of committing such offenses...
I found the following at the blog ConservaJew in a post entitled "a brief word about pat robertson (and sex)":
Actually, this post has nothing to do with sex. I'm just taking advantage of a nifty way to increase blog ratings.
Guess which blog he links to as the inspiration for the idea?
That's right...
Yours truly.
UPDATED - Hat Tip: Strong Bad
It looks like even Gil of Hirhurim - the Spiritual Powerhouse of the Jewish Blogsphere - is getting into the "sex for hits" act, as can be seen from his post entitled "Upcoming Post: Sex in Halakhah", in which he states:
In order to increase readership, I'm letting you know to expect a post next week about Sex in Halakhah. So stay tuned and let your friends know.
FULL DISCLOSURE: This is just a gimmick. The post will fit into that title, but not the way you think it will.
I can only assume that Gil didn't link to my blog as being the inspiration for his post because he felt that doing so would only bring more shame upon me...

Congratulations Ze'ev the Pornmeister! (evil grin)
(Actually, I didn't think there was anything all that salacious in the "Think Israel" ads - certainly nothing as sexy as Club Med ads I remember from years (decades?) ago. If that's what it takes to bring the punters in, hard...um...cash in hand, then so be it; Israel could use the business!)

Pornmeister, eh? Never been called that before.

Looks like even Gil is getting into the act.

There's one grand rule in advertising: If it works, use it. Think of it this way: it's a mitzvot! How else would Pat Robertson get any ratings in the Jewish blog world? ;)
