Look who's (not) praying now...


I have the utmost respect for Israel's media.

I have no doubt that all of their calls for prayer on behalf of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, along with their efforts to determine who in fact was and was not praying for him, were all out of a genuine concern for the well-being of the leader of the Jewish State and People.

As such, I am confident that the Israeli media will be no less vigorous in their calls for prayer by the Israeli public on behalf of Rabbi Yitzhak Kedouri (Yitzhak ben Tufcha), the 100+/- year old Kabalistic sage who is currently fighting for his life in an Israeli hospital, and who so many among the Jewish People, particularly within Israel, have looked to for blessings and prayers for divine intervention upon their behalf.

It's just a matter of time before the Israeli media will pick up on it...

Any minute now, I'm sure of it...

I just can't imagine that the Israeli media would allow itself to be guilty of such a double standard - of politicizing prayer and using it to adavance their own leftist / secular political agenda, would they?

No offense, but I don't see bias in worrying about the Prime Minister of the country. Also, he is about 100.

Ezzie, I have no problem with them worrying about the PM, but wheere are the mass calls for prayer from the media for another Jewish leader? or do they only pray for ones whose political ideology they agree with?

To be fair, Galei Tzahal has updates on his condition, and they have interviewed Aryeh Deri a number of times about what is happening.

I have also seen / heard updates here and there - my point is where are the calls for prayer? Why was the media only concerned about whther or not people were praying for Sharon but for no one else?

(No lack of respect is meant to Rav Kedouri by this comment. The lack of respect is directed at what i deem to be a mistakenly cynical post by the usually on form Ze'ev)

Let me see, The Prime Minister of a country and a 100 + rabbi with no role in national life. You know what - they should be calling for prayers for my auntie who is not doing so well too.

And my dog.

And my goldfish.

Are you not politicising Kedourie's condition now, by using it as part of your right wing propaganda?
